I worked on the project from early pre-production right after shipping Borderlands 3 through the pandemic hurdles and into early production before leaving Gearbox in 2022.

At the time I worked closely with Pat Guarino (Lead UI Artist) and Jason Sereno (Senior UI Artist) to explore potential UI styles. Eventually landing on something that if you squint, still looks vaguely familiar to the work we had done early on.

Over the course of my time on the project we went from very very early blue sky explorations, testing and validating UI middleware tools, formalizing a UI Style Guide, throwing that out the window due to project and worldwide turbulence (hey, there was a pandemic happening), and starting over.

Massive congrats to the team for getting this project over all of the road bumps that presented themselves along the way, and shipping a game that is acclaimed by both critic and fan-alike.
